family pics - first installment

so we got our family pictures taken on saturday. this was the first

time we've had actual pictures done by a pro since our engagement 11

years ago. she did an AMAZING job. i am actually the one editing them

and as there are A LOT, it will be a while before i get them done,

but i wanted to post a few.

(in case you're not familiar with Flat Staney, it is a children's book that has also become an activity that many teachers do in their classrooms. the children make a paper version of Flat Staney and then choose someone to send him to. that person then takes him around to various places where they live and get pictures with him. Jeff improvised on the idea a little.)

Peace can exist ony in the present moment. It is ridiculous to say "Wait until I finish this, then I will be free to live in peace." What is "this"? A diploma, a job, a house, the payment of a debt? If you think that way, peace will never come. There is always another "this" that will follow the present one. If you are not living in peace at this moment, you will never be able to. If you truly want to be at peace, you must be at peace right now. Otherwise, there is only "the hope of peace some day.""
