I was looking through some old emails that bret & i wrote to each other during the four months that we were engaged (living in different places) and i came across a bunch of poems he had written me. i'm sharing a few because hey- it's my blog and i can do whatever i want. (ok and also because i like them.)
Time keeps a steady beat
The grass grows up beneath our feet
The leaves fall down, without a sound
But when springtime comes, the skies will clear
and our treasure will be found.

I'd trade all my adventures
for a moment at your side
and I'd trade all the world's treasures
for the sparkle in your eyes
I'd trade all the world's paintings
for one sketch of your face
and I'd trade the light of the sun
for the warmth of your embrace.

i envy this guy's (many) talents and think it's cool that somehow i made him think i was worthy of a poem like that. thanks hon. (he probably won't even see this.)
